14.08.06 / IT FELT VERY GOOD

The first instalment of the Feel Good Project went off last weekend and was a huge success. A big up to J.A.R and Tag Communications for a brilliant event that was packed from beginning to end and raised loads of money for sight charity ORBIS.Great music and some great art by loads of HK artists including many of the ST/ART collective. Check out Feel Good Project Session 2 on August 26, 2006.

07.08.06 / A DAY ON THE FARM

The weather was awesome, the skating was cool, the hip hop dancers were hot and the whole ST/ART collective got very sweaty indeed. A day on the Farm. We started with over 100 empty boxes (courtesy of Allied PIckfords) and ended up with a massive "3" painted and stencilled in a loose Farmyard stylee. In attendance were Graphic Airlines, ESP, Start From Zero, Ping, Katol, HKR, *COM, KS1 and Big Mad. Check "Projects" a full update.

31.07.06 / DOWN ON THE FARM

Cancelled last week due to bad weather - this event is rescheduled to this coming Sunday 6 August as Hong Kong's youth outreach project The Farm celebrates its third birthday in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay. There'll be DJs, hip hop acts, skaters, loads of stalls and ST/ART will be there building and painting a huge sculpture made from recycled carboard boxes. The event runs from 2pm to 7pm and it's all for a good cause - so come by and check it out.

28.07.06 / NEW & NOTED

What happens when Start From Zero has a day off? Here it is. One wall and around 100 hand-made wheat pastes.

26.07.06 / FEEL GOOD PROJECT

J.A.R and Tag Communications have just launched the Feel Good Project with the aim to raise money for sight charity ORBIS. The first event is an explosive mix of art and music and will take place on August 12th. There'll be live art demos by 12 HK artists, including some ST/ART artists, live bands and Djs and of course awesome live visuals. Check it out and feel good.

24.07.06 / A COLLECTIVE THANK YOU

There is now just one week to go until our 450 SQ FT Exhibition comes to a close. And because the support and encouragement we have had from artists, friends, media and everyone else in Hong Kong and overseas has been so incredible, we're throwing a THANK YOU PARTY this coming Thursday 27 July at Yumla in Central HK. Cheers go to Dan and Pat at the bar for their constant support...

17.07.06 / ESP vs CRAZY LABEL

Big up to PHilfy and Selph from ESP crew for their recent collaboration with Andy Woo's new toy brand Crazy Label (www.wookieweb.com). Along with other local and international artists the ESP boys created some wicked designs on TAMO toys which were featured at the Taiwan Toy Festival 2006. And it looks like there'll be more collaborations in the future as well as a full production run of some of the featured toys. We'll keep you posted...

14.07.06 / POSTED

We're not really into blowing our own trumpet here at ST/ART HQ, but we're rather chuffed here right now at the amount of mail we've been receiving. In just the past 2 days we've had more than 50 letters as a result of a piece written in the newspaper HK Headline. We are truly flattered and grateful - and we will answer every single one of them.

11.07.06 / GRAPHICAIRLINES GET DIRTY

Massive congratulations to Graphicairlines following the release of their beautifully dark first book entitled Trash Talk. The unique work features a fully illustrated graphic story, selected artworks and photographs as well as contributions by 17 other artists and ST/ART members. But that's not all - it also  comes with a free plush toy and sticker set! Go out and buy one at a local bookstore today or go to www.graphicairlines.com for more info.

10.07.06 / PRESS FOR ACTION

Two weeks in to the 450 FT SQ Exhibition and we're still being surprised by positive media reactions. We've now been featured in IdN, HK Magazine, MILK, Apple Daily, East Touch, Beats Magazine, Sun Daily, Asian Wall St Journal, Hinge, SCMP and HK Headline plus we've been featured on Cable TV, TVB and even The Economist website. Crikey! Sincere thanks again to everyone for all the support.

03.07.06 / THANK YOU

What a night. Last Friday we opened our doors for the beginning of our 450 FT SQ Exhibition - and the response was overwhelming. Thanks to all the artists, friends, guests, sponsors and staff who made the evening successful, memorable and who gave generously to charity. We love you all. And thanks to Timon and Isabell at Red Dog Studios for doing great shots of the gallery and the party.

29.06.06 / PRESSING TIMES

With just one day to go until the launch of the 450 Sq Ft Exhibition it seems that the media is well and truly on our side. Thanks to Chris at IdN for their piece entitled "Street Art With Heart", Helen at SCMP for their piece in today's paper "Graffiti Artists Take On Greedy Landlords" and also to Erin and Phil at RTHK for yesterday's rather scary radio interview. Thanks for all the support - see you tomorrow.

23.06.06 / WHO WANTS SOME T?

The ink has dried on the new range of ST/ART T shirts. There are just 20 pieces of each design available by 10 of the core ST/ART artists. Each hand screen-printed or spray-painted T comes with numbered signed labels, a stencil hang tag and a load of free stickers - all in a lovely metallic bag... Nice! They will only be available for sale at the 450 Sq Ft Exhibition but if there are any left over we'll get them up on the site.

23.06.06 / 450 & COUNTING

After months of fun and hard work, we're very proud of the fact that we are more than ready for the opening of the 450 Sq. Ft Exhibition. So mark it down in your diaries and come see what 55 artists can do when they get together...

July 1 - 30 at IdN Gallery, 5-9 Gresson St, Wanchai, HK

22.06.06 / MILKING IT

Big thanks to Makim Mak at MILK magazine for giving us a four page plug in this weeks magazine for the upcoming 450 Sq. Ft Exhibition. In fact we're very grateful for the overwhelming support we're getting for this project so far.. Just goes to show that a little positivity goes a long way. THANKS!

06.06.06 / AFTER SCHOOL

Thanks to Po Kit, owner and producer over at AFTER SCHOOL Adventure + Concept + Cafe for donating a wall at his cafe to ST/ART artists. In attendance with the paint were Graphicairlines, C#, KS, Selph (ESP), 4get, Hobsek, Redy and Po Kit himself. Check out the cafe at 2/F, 17 Yun Ping Road, Causeway Bay, HK.

29.05.06 / SCREEN PRINT FIESTA

The whole ST/ART possee brightened up an otherwise dull and wet weekend by getting together at C#NDOM Workshop to begin the hand screen-printing of the new limited edition range of ST/ART T shirts - to be completed in time for the exhibition opening next month. There will be just 20 pieces in each design and each will be numbered and signed by the artist. Check the on-line shop next month for the full range!

18.05.06 / ISLAND JAM Vol 1

Pix have just come in from last weekend's "ISLAND JAM Vol. 1" by ESP and ST/ART. This is the first in what it's hoped will be a regular series where HK artists can get together in a huge, hidden location to freely paint, collaborate, learn, explore and party. Despite a few unwelcome 'interferences' the event went off well and we have the pix to prove it. Check out the projects section for more. Big up to Redy & Selph for a great idea.

17.05.06 / EATING DOGS TOUR 2006

As part of the French Hip Hop Tour, bewildered punters in the corporate stronghold of Lan Kwai Fong were last week treated to a very slick demo by some of France's finest. The huge piece featured Hong Kong's finest son, Bruce Lee, and was a pleasure to watch. Good to see HK getting some decent talent in.

15.05.06 / NEW & NOTED

A cheeky backlash against the hype phenomena that has made one man a zillionaire by using other peoples' ideas on over-priced T shirts for "cool" people... The tagline says it all - Hype shall always kill. How true. And its about time too. Artist unknown.

09.05.06 / DEK ART EXHIBITION

Last night saw the opening party of Royal Elastic's DEK ART 2006 Exhibition. The one-off show featured a live demo by legendary artist SHE1, a skate deck exhibtion featuring work by 30 artists, live DJs and quite a lot of drinking. ST/ART artists on the wall included: Redy, Graphic Airlines, KS1, Katol, Ping, *COM, 13177, Start From Zero and c#.

A big thank you to Jimmy Au from Royal Elastics for organising the party and for inviting us to be involved. Nice work.

28.04.06 / NEW & NOTED

Busy as always, here's some of the latest offerings from the one and only Graphic Airlines.

20.04.06 / NEW & NOTED

That's one of c# recent type based pieces on the left, with a big pink octopus thing starting to engulfe it on the right. Not sure who did the pink thing.

18.04.06 / NEW & NOTED

Recent sightings in Central HK - from left to right; a 'peace' by Start From Zero, Selph (ESP) and PaperGuy by Lungology.

15.04.06 / ALWAYS USE A C#NDOM

The whole ST/ART possee got together last night to celebrate the opening of the new studio of C# and Dom (Start From Zero). The place has already been nicknamed C#NDOM Workshop which we think is hilarious... Anyway, great space and great opening party - thanks guys. Among others in attendance were artists Graphic Airlines, KS1, Katol, Ping, *COM, 13177 and of course our lovely hosts - C#NDOM... ho ho ho...

14.04.06 / ONLY 449 TO GO

Well it seemed like a good idea at the time... Today the first batch of blank canvases arrived for the exhibition - the first 300 only... Suddenly we realise how ambitious the exhibition is going to be. And by the way, they were made just across the way in China and the quality is fantastic. Thanks to Redy for sorting it all. Nice work.

12.04.06 / A WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS

Lucky us.. Our upcoming 450 Square Feet Exhibition is already attracting considerable support. Thanks to all you lovely, forward thinking open-minded souls for your generous support. It is truly appreciated. We promise it'll be a good show.

The second group exhibition from the ST/ART collective has just been confirmed with an opening date of June 30th. Entitled 450 Square Feet, the exhibition will hopefully tackle the topic of space in Hong Kong and will feature 450 square foot canvases by the ST/ART collective. Many many thanks to IdN for providing us their fantastic gallery space for the exhibition. Nice one.
